An awkward effort from the edge of the area almost slides into the corner, but the goalkeeper scrambles to his right and smothers the danger.
Another outstanding save from the goalkeeper, after Fábio Coentrão meets Sami Khedira's cross from the right at the back post. The bouncing effort is set to sneak into the corner but De Gea saves with his feet.
Madrid respond through that man Cristiano Ronaldo, turning from right to left on the edge of the box, but his low left-footed shot is dealt with comfortably by the Spanish goalkeeper.
The quick thinking of Xabi Alonso allows him to send Mesut Özil free with a quick free-kick. The German schemer drives into the right side of the box, but his low effort towards the near post is repelled excellently by the United keeper.
Angel Di María whips a deep cross into the area from the left and the Portuguese forward is waiting at the back post to rise high above Patrice Evra and force a header into the corner.
